Philadelphia Family Photographer | In-Home Newborn Session | Mom Guilt
It’s been way too long since I’ve written a blog post, but I figured that it’s better late than never! Between the fall/holiday rush, to now being without childcare, things have been kind of crazy. I am currently on the hunt for childcare for my kids, which I’m SOOOO excited about.
While I am really excited for my kids to go into full-time care, I’m also a little conflicted. The culture I grew up in was very traditional (think the 50s) and it was “not ideal” for a mom to not be a stay-at-home mom. My values and beliefs have changed greatly since then, but it’s hard to totally adjust your thinking when it’s been ingrained into you from childhood. There’s still that guilt or thoughts of “am I doing right by them?” Which is so silly, because as I was talking to my husband about this, he said that he never had thoughts like this. It goes to show that moms feel guilt for things dads would never even consider having guilt about.
So I am trying to really embrace this impending change, and recalibrate my former way of thinking. I truly am thrilled about being full-time with my business and being able to pour a significant amount of energy into it and my wonderful clients.
I am a Philly family photographer giving my clients bright and genuine photos that they will cherish forever. To learn more about booking a newborn session with me and becoming an MJP Family, click the button below. I can't wait to serve you!
